I am a Clinical Pastoral Counselor with 15 years of licensed experience. Integrative in my approach, I combine biblical principles of care-giving with clinical methods. I have often counseled Christians who are in conflict with themselves because they actually have two sets of beliefs. One may say, intellectually/cognitively, this is what I’m supposed to believe i.e. "God so loved the world….etc., but experientially, they really believe at a deeper level something contrary, " but the world is really not a safe place since the day I was abused," for instance. Obviously, this is because bad things do happen to Christians, and we are not immune to all the turmoil and stress of this world. HOwever, it is then we have to choose what perspective we are going to believe.
